About our Coach

The Seahawks Coach for the 2009 season will be Brent Jansen. Coach Jansen brings many years of competitive racing and team coaching experience. Coach Jansen also brings the discipline of his experiences as a history teacher at Barnstable High School . We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber to lead our program. The following is a brief summary of his sailing and coaching experience.
 
  • Competed at U.S Team racing nationals: 2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2006,2007
  • 2002 Collegiate National Champion (fleet racing)
  • 2002 All American
  • 2001 Honorable Mention All American
  • 2002: U.S Midwinters Champion (fleet racing) 
  • Coached Milton Academy to High School Nationals: 2004,2005,2006,2007
  • Coached Milton Academy to New England Fleet Racing Championship: Won this event in 2007
  • Highest Nationals Finish: 6th place Fleet Racing 2007, 6th place Team racing 2007
* Each year we qualified, we improved: first year we were 17/18, 10/18, 8/18, 6/18 (The last year my A division skipper placed third in the country).
